Description

Named after the Norse god of mischief, this paddle is designed for longer trips and a bit of surfing for the average paddler.  The shaft is a series of laminates combining hard for maximum strength whilst remaining as light as possible.  Loki’s smaller head requires less effort to get the board moving and is less tiring for the longer flat water trip than Odin, but more powerful than Freyja.

  • Blade Length: 50cm
  • Blade Width (widest): 22cm

Shaft Length:  There are a range of common ways to determine the best length for a stand-up paddle. It depends slightly on the type of paddling you will be doing and personal preference. A good standard is between 6 and 10 inches longer than your overall height. If the paddle is too long you will tend to make wider paddle strokes which turns the board, and if it is too short you will need to bend at the knees and/or waist to get good water contact. A paddle that is too short can also tend to make you lean forward which can cause issues with back strain.

An absolute joy to behold as well as to paddle with. Obviously heavier than my carbon paddle but the Loki’s momentum really comes to the fore in a breeze. Absolutely delighted with it.

I’ve not used the blade in serious surf yet – its too nice to risk it, but its a dream to use on the flat and gentle stuff.  It’s light and has a degree of ‘life’ that my plastic paddle just doesn’t have. Only 4 stars since I’ve not given it the full test yet.
