This beautiful canoe is designed along the lines of the traditional ‘Prospector’ with a focus on an exceptional all-rounder. It is fitted out as a tandem boat but is light and manoeuvrable enough to be a very responsive solo boat.
Designed with a slight rocker, moderate hull curvature and graceful fore and aft profiles, it handles well across a range of conditions. Its hull shape provides excellent manoeuvrability, has good tracking characteristics and its profile provides minimal wind resistance. It has ample space for day gear and room enough for all the gear needed for extended touring.

I’ve recently restored a 16’shearwater which had a small amount of rot in the stems & gunnels ,a recanvas four coats of primer & 4 of paint it’s looking fantastic,I’ve paddled it all summer &it’s a joy the sound of wood on wood as you paddle is delightful,the build quality is excellent,my previous canoe was a bell prospector in Kevlar which is a great boat nice and light but the cedar canvas beats it for me,I can also recommend Valkyrie paddles as I have two which I’ve used for three years now and are as good as new ,they look great feel great and perform great 10/10 from me on all items,well done Valkyrie👏👏👏👏👏
