S.U.P Paddles.

Our SUP paddles are made with two head sizes and are either cranked or classic.  The larger Odin head gives massive bite for big power paddling whilst the smaller Freja relies on finesse.

Named after the Lord and Lady of the Norse pantheon, these stand-up paddles are developed for both long distance flat-water paddling and for use in the surf.

The Odin has a larger blade for maximum power and bite in the water.

Blade Length: 47cm/18.5in

Blade Width (widest): 25cm/10in

Freya’s smaller head requires less effort to get the board moving and is less tiring for the longer flat water trip.

Blade Length: 45cm/17.5in

Blade Width (widest): 22cm/8.5in

If you go for the cranked shaft, the crank angle is 12 degrees.

Sizing Advice:

There are a range of common ways to determine the best length for a stand-up paddle.  It depends slightly on the type of paddling you will be doing and personal preference.  A good standard is between 6 and 10 inches longer than your overall height.  If the paddle is too long you will tend to make wider paddle strokes which turns the board, and if it is too short you will need to bend at the knees and/or waist to get good water contact.  A paddle that is too short can also tend to make you lean forward which can cause issues with back strain.

Reviews:

  1. I’ve not used the blade in serious surf yet – its too nice to risk it, but its a dream to use on the flat and gentle stuff.  It’s light and has a degree of ‘life’ that my plastic paddle just doesn’t have.
  2. I know it’s not what its made for John but I love cruising down the river with the Odin in my Canadian.  I feel like I own the river.  Joan says I should get rid of the plastic boat because the paddle shows it up!
